A hands-on learning environment

At Ten4 we believe the best way to learn is by getting stuck in. Apprentice Heavy Fabricator Alister Nicholl has been with us for just 4 months and it’s been a steep learning curve!

He’s been tons of getting hands-on training during the build of four T8 traffic management sign trucks destined for use in Kaitaia. The trucks arrived with the decks already fitted, ready for us to install the arrow board mounting frame, beacon and work light - all of which all takes about three weeks to complete.

Manufacturing Manager Shaun Dodd has been coaching Alister who used a host of new skills during the projects including measuring, marking, folding, drilling, MIG, steel and alloy welding (alloy is by far the trickiest to master).

After hours Alister is into music and enjoys playing guitar… we might have to make him guest artist at our next work do.
